About the new guidelines
The new guidelines have been produced by FarrPoint on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and focus on the technical and service requirements that help ensure digitally enabled telecare services are safe, resilient and reliable for people who depend on them.
The guidelines have been developed in response to the:
- increasing use of digital telecare technologies
- migration from analogue services
- growing importance of connectivity, interoperability and cyber security in widely used telecare services
They have been informed by engagement with commissioners, providers, suppliers and sector partners, alongside an independent technical review of current telecare products, services and assurance approaches.
The three new guidance documents are for commissioning:
- Personal (Dispersed) alarm devices
- Grouped living scheme solutions
- Alarm receiving centre solutions
The guidelines will be published later this week on this (this will open in a new window)gov.uk page and emailed to all webinar attendees after the event.
