We are a leading expert consultancy in this field and are involved in many of the key major investments in fibre, mobile, IoT and 5G projects across the UK and beyond.
Some of our clients include: The Scottish Government, DCMS, Government of New Brunswick, Edinburgh Napier University, Newcastle City Council and more.As well as helping deploy connectivity, we work with our clients to develop and implement use cases for digital connectivity, improving their organisations and the services they deliver.
FarrPoint currently has 20 members of staff, who work hybrid - from home and the office in Edinburgh city centre.
We are looking to recruit a part time Accounts Assistant to manage the FarrPoint accounts and undertake all associated financial administrative duties. You will work alongside ourFinance Director and the company accountants. You will also support our consultancy team as they deliver client projects.
This is a permanent, part time, flexible role which averages around 12hours/week with some fluctuation around billing cycles at month end for example.
As a consultancy business we invoice consultants’ time each month across a range of client projects. Draft invoice details are prepared by the consultants each month and submitted to the Accounts Assistant for action. We have a low number of suppliers and very low aged debtors with the vast majority of invoices settled within 30 days. FarrPoint uses QuickBooks Accounting Software.
FarrPoint has a subsidiary business in Canada, FarrPoint Inc so there will be some activity to manage those transactions.
The role involves the following key activities:
• Processing of supplier invoices for both FarrPoint Ltd and FarrPoint Inc.
• Processing of staff expenses
• Payment of supplier invoices and staff expenses
• Update of banking in QuickBooks and bank reconciliations
• Monthly client invoices based on consultants' time/expenses
• Monthly journals for deferred income, associate income adjustments, accruals and prepayments
• Monthly invoice listing, reconciliation and analysis
• Pension processing and payments
• Payroll processing and payments to staff
• Administration of staff joiners and leavers
• Budget input
• Year-end preparation of documentation for accountants
• Ad hoc analysis of costs/overheads as required
We offer an hourly rate of £25/hour for 48 hours/month with the flexibility to manage your input to meet the needs of the workload.
